Why AISI 316 for valve tags

AISI 316 is chosen for technical marking when corrosion resistance and permanent identification matter – including on valves, pumps and pipework in HVAC, district heating, water treatment and process plants.

Material and use

AISI 316 typically has better chloride resistance than AISI 304. It often suits humid technical installations, but is not automatically the right choice for permanent seawater. Suitability should be assessed for the plant.
