Material and use
AISI 316 is often used for valve and TAG signs where corrosion resistance and permanent marking matter. The material suits HVAC, district heating, water, process and many outdoor technical installations – including on valves, pumps, pipework and process equipment.
AISI 316 typically has better corrosion resistance than AISI 304, especially where chlorides are present. That does not mean the material never corrodes or suits every chemical.
Permanent seawater: Contact us for a material assessment. Standard AISI 316 is not automatically the right choice for permanent seawater immersion.
